Meanwhile, Parton will soon be returning to one of her most famous on-screen roles, confirming she, Lily Tomlin and Jane Fonda will be reuniting in the upcoming “9 to 5” reboot — nearly 30 years after the release of the 1980 original.

According to Parton, 73, once the three stars sign off on the script, production will begin on the film, in which the trio will reprise their characters, now successful entrepreneurs who find themselves contacted by three young women working in the same company where they used to toil.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry share photo of son Archie

Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor has his father wrapped around his finger — at least he does in a new photo Prince Harry and the former Meghan Markle shared on Sunday.

In the photo posted on their official Instagram account, Harry is cradling Archie whose tiny hand is wrapped around one of Harry’s fingers.

“Happy Father’s Day! And wishing a very special first Father’s Day to The Duke of Sussex,” the photo caption reads.

The photo is similar to one Harry and Meghan, who is now known as the Duchess of Sussex, shared last month marking her first Mother’s Day.

Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, welcomed their first born on May 6. He was introduced to the world two days later.

The baby arrived just short of a year after Harry and Meghan’s star-studded wedding. He is the first interracial baby in the British monarchy’s recent history and is seventh in line to the British throne. The couple opted not to use a title for their son.

He will be known as Master Archie, in agreement with his father’s wish that he grow up as a private citizen.

Donald Trump to roll out new healthcare plan in few months

US President Donald Trump has announced that he will roll out a new healthcare plan in the next few months.

“We’re going to produce phenomenal healthcare, and we already have the concept of the plan,” Trump said in an interview on Sunday night.

“We’ll be announcing that in two months, maybe less,” he said.

Trump again called ObamaCare, a health reform law signed in 2010 by his predecessor Barack Obama, “a disaster”, reports Xinhua news agency

During his first presidential campaign, Trump vowed to repeal and replace ObamaCare if elected.

Since taking office, Trump, along with Republican lawmakers, has attempted to repeal ObamaCare.

His administration even took legal actions to try to overturn the bill through a lawsuit claiming that it was unconstitutional.

According to an ABC News-Washington Post poll, healthcare may remain one of the top challenges for Trump’s 2020 re-election campaign.

Today Is One Of The Most Magical Full Moons Of 2019 — Get Ready For An Emotional Shift

The Full Moon happening on the 17th of June is going to sparkle brightly and powerfully in the sign of Sagittarius, sitting only several degrees away right from the so-called Galactic Center.

In fact, being close to this center will upgrade and amplify its energies, and also raise the planet Earth’s frequencies. For all those days that will surround this Full Moon, we will all have the chances to shift in higher vibrations and frequencies. We will all have the chance to tap in higher realms in order to explore our creativity’s height.

The Full Moon will be a dreamy one, amplifying our intuitive talents, and permitting us to finally unlock all the wisdom which is already present inside us.

Although we can forget, everything that we need, each small piece was given to us before we actually came into these bodies, and on such Full Moon, it is going to be easier to remember or gain access to this wisdom.

Under the Full Moon’s light, we will spend some time with our souls and nurture ourselves just like we are. Also, we will not need healing or fixing; we will only need loving.

Although there is a creative, dreamy, and beautiful energy that surrounds this lunar cycle, it will have fiery qualities as well. The sign of Sagittarius is a fire one; however, there are some other energies right into the cosmos which are contributing to all this too.

During this month, the focus was on speaking the truth.

The focus was also on learning about rising up from all those walls that we created, and from all the darkness surrounding us, and then step into the more unique place.

Speaking the truth is not actually about using the ego or being judgmental in order to create greater blame or shame in this world. Rather than that, it is more about getting to our souls’ roof. It is even about uncovering our masks and discovering freedom or love, so that we can be ourselves in every situation, regardless of how challenging or hard it is.

If some area related to our lives asks us to be truthful or honest more than before, the Full Moon’s fiery quality will provide us with the spark and confidence we need, in order to face up and stand in the truth.

We are not supposed to let our fear run all over our lives, or avoiding the life which was meant for us, and put off performing things because we feel afraid of telling the world who we really are. We are not supposed to dim our light.

  • UK growth tipped to slow as firms run down Brexit stockpiles | Business | The Guardian

UK growth tipped to slow as firms run down Brexit stockpiles | Business | The Guardian

Economic growth in Britain is expected to slow to the lowest levels since the financial crisis as firms run down Brexit stockpiles, according to a leading business lobby group.

After a stockpiling rush this year that pumped up the rate of economic growth, the British Chambers of Commerce said growth would slow in 2020 and 2021.

The organisation has slashed its forecast for GDP growth next year to just 1%, from 1.3%, marking the weakest expansion in the British economy since the 2009 recession that followed the financial crisis.

Growth is also forecast to remain subdued in 2021, at 1.2%, down from its previous estimate of 1.4%.

The British economy has benefited in recent months as companies braced for a no-deal Brexit ahead of the original deadline of 29 March, before Theresa May delayed the process until the autumn.

What is gross domestic product (GDP)?

Gross domestic product (GDP) is a key government statistic and provides a measure of the UK’s total economic activity.

Put simply, if GDP is up on the previous three months, the economy is growing; if it is down, it is contracting. Two or more consecutive quarters of contraction mean the economy is officially in recession.

GDP is the sum of all goods and services produced in the economy, including the service sector, manufacturing, construction, energy, agriculture and government.

Economists are concerned with the real rate of change of GDP, which shows how the economy is performing once inflation is taken into account.

The Office for National Statistics produces quarterly official GDP figures about three and a half weeks after the end of each three-month period.

The ONS uses three measures and they should, at least in theory, all add up to the same number.
    • The value of all goods and services produced – known as the output or production measure.
    • The value of the income generated from company profits and wages – known as the income measure.
    • The value of goods and services purchased by households, government, business (in terms of investment in machinery and buildings) and from overseas – known as the expenditure measure.

The ONS publishes three estimates of quarterly GDP figures. The first “flash” estimate comes out about 25 days after the quarter in question has ended. The figures usually get revised in subsequent months as more data from businesses and government departments is received. But even the third, dubbed “final”, estimate of quarterly GDP is not set in stone: the Blue Book, which is published once a year, in August, contains revisions going back the last 18 years.

The National Institute of Economic and Social Research’s estimate comes out about three weeks before the official figures.

The ONS also calculates the size of the UK economy relative to the number of people living here. GDP-per-capita shows whether we are actually getting richer or poorer, by stripping out the impact of population changes.

The unprecedented rise in manufacturers storing up raw materials and components fuelled a rise in GDP of 0.5% in the first three months of the year, which the BCC said should lift the overall growth rate in for 2019 as a whole.

However, the increase means firms now have inventories they can run down without needing to place as many orders for new stock, hitting economic momentum. Economic growth went into reverse in April as companies halted their rush to stockpile, while car manufacturers also halted production after planning to avoid disruption around the original Brexit deadline.

Suren Thiru, head of economics at the BCC, said: “It is increasingly likely that the temporary boost from historically high stockpiling in the first quarter, which has marginally improved the growth outlook for this year, will be surpassed over the medium-term by the negative impact from the running down of these inventories.”

He said a no-deal Brexit could damage economic growth in Britain further, should a new prime minister after the Conservative leadership race walk the country away from a deal with Brussels.

“A messy and disorderly exit from the EU remains the main downside risk to the UK’s economic outlook as the disruption caused would increase the likelihood of the UK’s weak growth trajectory translating into a more pronounced deterioration in economic conditions,” he said.

The continuing lack of clarity over Brexit means that business investment is forecast to contract at a faster rate this year than was previously thought, while the lingering uncertainty means corporate spending will also recover more slowly next year.

Business investment fell for four quarters in a row last year, marking the worst run in Britain since the financial crisis, and damaging the longer-term growth rate of the UK economy. Companies investing in new technology have the potential to produce gains in productivity.

The BCC said business investment was expected to continue falling in 2019 due to the political chaos over Brexit.

Adam Marshall, director general of the lobby group, said: “Businesses are putting resources into contingency plans, such as stockpiling, rather than investing in ventures that would positively contribute to long-term economic growth. This is simply not sustainable.”

  • New Denver City Council Member: I Will Usher In Communism ‘By Any Means Necessary’

New Denver City Council Member: I Will Usher In Communism ‘By Any Means Necessary’

Newly elected far-left Denver City Council member Candi CdeBaca has stated that she is “excited to usher” in communism “by any means necessary.”

CdeBaca, who won in an upset runoff election earlier this month, said in late March during a candidate forum for City Council District 9:

I don’t believe our current economic system actually works. Um, capitalism by design is extractive and in order to generate profit in a capitalist system, something has to be exploited, that’s land, labor or resources.

And I think that we’re in late phase capitalism and we know it doesn’t work and we have to move into something new. And I believe in community ownership of land, labor, resources, and distribution of those resources.

And so, whatever that morphs into I think is what will serve community the best and I’m excited to usher it in by any means necessary. [Emphasis added]

Encyclopedia Britannica defines communism as a “political and economic doctrine that aims to replace private property and a profit-based economy with public ownership and communal control of at least the major means of production (e.g., mines, mills, and factories) and the natural resources of a society.”

CdeBaca, who is a democratic socialist, also drew intense criticism for saying that she will “usher” in communism “by any means necessary.”

While it’s not exactly clear what CdeBaca meant when she said “by any means necessary,” PBS notes that Malcolm X used the phrase and it meant “up to and including the use of violence.”

The American Mirror added that “by any means necessary” also happens to be a radical far-left organization. Influence Watch reports on By Any Means Necessary (BAMN):

BAMN employs aggressive “militant” direct action and litigation to support its cause.[3] BAMN protests of official government bodies have resulted in flipping tables and other disruptive outbursts.[4] BAMN demonstrators have been arrested for inciting riots,[5] throwing rocks at police,[6] and destruction of property.[7]

  • NASA to land first woman on moon as part of Artemis mission space exploration, moon landing project

NASA to land first woman on moon as part of Artemis mission space exploration, moon landing project

NASA announced that it plans to land the first female ever on the moon in 2024. According to NASA, it has been 45 years since U.S. astronauts set foot on the moon, but the upcoming Artemis mission aims to establish a sustainable human presence on the Moon by 2028 with the “first woman and the next man,” greeting the lunar surface.

During the original Apollo missions, multiple American male astronauts stepped foot on the Moon, the last occurring during the Apollo 17 in 1972. Sally Ride became the first American woman to enter space in 1983 on the STS-7 mission.

Artemis aims to chart a radically new path for the nation’s space exploration. NASA’s Artemis mission seeks to “demonstrate new technological advancements and lay the foundation for private companies to build a lunar economy.” Named after the twin sister of Apollo in Greek mythology, Artemis will have humans explore the moon’s South Pole surface for the first time ever and lay the groundwork for human missions to Mars this century.

To this end, the space agency is building the new Orion spacecraft as well as the highly-advanced Space Launch System (SLS), which aim to propel heavier payloads off the Earth’s surface and send humans into space for longer durations than previously achieved. NASA will also build a small spaceship, Gateway, that will orbit the moon and enable easier access to and from Earth.

In a promotional video about the upcoming projects, NASA scientists explain that millions of tons of water-ice were discovered beneath the moon’s surface in 2009. NASA believes this ice can be extracted by machines and converted into either drinking water or oxygen for astronauts, or it can be separated from hydrogen and used as lunar surface rocket fuel.

While there had been previous calls by politicians for U.S. astronauts to return to the moon, NASA’s impetus to once again create a lunar presence with astronauts gained new traction under the Trump administration. In May 2019, President Trump added $1.6 billion to NASA’s $21 billion 2020 budget to kickstart plans to return humans to the moon.

“President Donald Trump has asked NASA to accelerate our plans to return to the Moon and to land humans on the surface again by 2024,” NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said in a statement. “We will go with innovative new technologies and systems to explore more locations across the surface than was ever thought possible. This time, when we go to the Moon, we will stay. And then we will use what we learn on the Moon to take the next giant leap — sending astronauts to Mars.”

  • Remove bird feeders to battle spread of deadly parasite, bird society urges

Remove bird feeders to battle spread of deadly parasite, bird society urges

HALIFAX — Nova Scotians are being asked to remove bird feeders and close up bird baths as a fatal disease spread by damp, human-provided seed is killing purple finches.

David Currie, president of the Nova Scotia Bird Society, says the cases of trichomonosis around the province are an annual occurrence, but they seem to have arrived quickly and intensely during a particularly cool and wet spring.

The fatal disease is caused by a tiny parasite being transmitted from bird to bird through moist bird seed, wet areas and in bird baths.

Currie says there have been seven reports of the disease around the province, prompting his group to suggest people follow the advice of the Canadian Wildlife Health Cooperative and remove the feeders and bird baths.

The parasite causes inflammation of the bird’s glands and windpipes, leading to lethargy and making it difficult for the birds to breath.

Currie said it primarily harms purple finches, which aren’t currently endangered, but the fatal illness occasionally spreads into other seed-eating birds.

How to Care for Orchids and Help Them Bloom

With a cluster of delicate-looking blooms clinging to one or two extended stems that are flanked by elongated, bright green leaves, the simple beauty of the orchid has made it a favorite household and office plant, and makes it one of the best flowering indoor plants, period!

Orchids are available year-round at florists, greenhouses, and even the floral sections of some grocery and department stores. There are many colors, sizes and price ranges to choose from, and you can expect to pay anywhere from $9.99 for a mini orchid to upwards of $35.00 or more for a larger orchid plant in most New England retail settings. To get the most out of your purchase, follow these tips on how to care for orchids.

    How to Care for Orchids

Orchids have showy , yet delicate, blooms that make a bold statement.

Before purchasing an orchid check the overall health of the plant.

How to Care for Orchids and Help Them Bloom

How to Spot a Healthy Orchid

    1. Is the stem sturdy? Avoid plants with limp, brittle, and damaged stems.
    2. Are the leaves bright green and free of damage and discoloration? Avoid brown, withered, shriveled and/or discolored leaves.
    3. Are the buds of unopened blooms intact, or if the orchid is already in bloom, do the flowers appear bright, full, and secure on the stem? Avoid plants with faded or wilting flowers or loose or missing blooms.

Once you have selected a healthy specimen, the goal is to help the orchid flourish and bloom as often as possible. After the plant has flowered, the blooms will stay open anywhere from several weeks to a few months — sometimes even longer— when kept in ideal conditions.

    Ideal Conditions for Orchids

Temperature: Most orchid plants do well in a daytime temperature of 65–75 degrees and a nighttime temperature of 56–70 degrees.
Humidity: Orchids prefer about 60 percent humidity in the air, but they also need a spot where there is good air circulation. Humidifiers and fans can be used to adjust air quality.
Watering and Feeding: Water about once a week. Do not over water, and — if possible — mist instead with non-chlorinated water that is kept at room temperature. Do not let their “feet” sit in water. Follow fertilizing directions from the orchid’s packaging.
Soil: Soil should be loose and never compacted.
Light: Orchids prefer bright, filtered light, and will not flourish in dimly-lit rooms.

After flowers have completely dropped from the plant, it is time to prep the orchid for re-blooming.

    orchid stem growing

This orchid is in the process of sending up a new stem after already blooming once.

    Brenda Darroch

How to Care for Orchids to Encourage Re-blooming

    1. Cut the stalk back to about half the current length.
    2. Seal the cut end with a dab of melted wax to protect the cut from exposure to bacteria.
    3. Move the orchid to a cooler area that receives less light for a few weeks to allow it to store up energy before re-introducing it to more light and warmer temperatures again.

Within a few weeks or months — depending on the location of the orchid — new growth should appear near the cut site. Orchids are known to be slow-growing and the re-bloom time can take anywhere from several weeks to several months after the new growth appears. But as enthusiasts know, it is well worth the wait to have an orchid bloom again.

  • Only 10 Companies Own All The World’s Food Brands

Only 10 Companies Own All The World’s Food Brands

Just when you think there’s no end to the diversity of junk food lining supermarket aisles, an insanely detailed infographic comes along to set us all straight. Out of the hundreds of products at our disposal, only ten major corporations manufacture the bulk of what we toss in our shopping carts. So whether you’re looking to stock up on anything from orange soda to latte-flavored potato chips, Mondelez, Kraft, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, PepsiCo, P&G, Johnson & Johnson, Mars, Danone, General Mills, Kellogg’s, and Unilever own just about everything you could hope to buy. It seems that six degrees of separation theory has been proven after all, if only because we all drink Diet Coke every now and then. In order to visually elucidate that point, Oxfam International created a comprehensive infographic that reveals the extensive reach of the “Big 10” food and beverage companies. Unlikely ties between brands we largely don’t associate with one another show how easy it is to be misinformed about the American food system. For example, PepsiCo produces Quaker granola bars, and Nestlé makes Kit Kat bars but also frozen California Pizza Kitchen pies. To the surprise of many, Pineapple Fanta isn’t sourced straight from the mythical Fanta Islands, but canned right alongside Barq’s root beer at the Coca-Cola factory.

Obviously, the horrors extend far beyond our own shattered daydreams. Massive corporations squash entrepreneurial diversity and make it nearly impossible for startups and small businesses to compete. According to Oxfam’s report, “The world’s largest food and beverage companies have a lot of power – but you have more. And because they’re not using theirs enough to help poor communities or the planet, you can use yours to change the way they do business.” If you’re looking to avoid contributing to the Big 10 world takeover, try shopping at local farmers’ markets and maybe skip out on soda and highly processed foods altogether. Your body will thank you for it in the long run anyway.
