The 32 year old actor has been at luxury Connecticut health retreat Prive-Swiss for nearly a month, arriving a couple of weeks before the shows finale on May 19th. The cost of undergoing psychological coaching, practicing mindful meditations to combat stress cost nearly $120,000 a month. • Aussie superstar ONJ is selling her sprawling Californian ranch as she faces her third battle with cancer | PerthNow

Aussie superstar ONJ is selling her sprawling Californian ranch as she faces her third battle with cancer | PerthNow

Legendary Australian performer Olivia Newton-John has put her breathtaking Californian ranch home up for sale for $US5.4 million ($7.7 million) as she faces her third cancer battle.

Grease star Newton-John, 70, has listed the property in Santa Ynez, about 200km northwest of Los Angeles, after placing her Byron Bay property on the market earlier this year for a reported $US3.9 million ($5.6 million).

Her property is drawing strong interest from potential buyers who are drawn to its unique river frontage.

“This stunning 12 acre (4.8ha) property is a private enclave built out to the highest level of quality and sophistication, located on one of the rare parcels fronting the Santa Ynez River,” according to listing agents Village Properties Realtors. “Very few properties in Santa Ynez Valley front on the river – this is one of them!”

The LA Times reports that the asking price is $710,000 more than she paid for it in 2015.

The property features a contemporary home built in 2008, a two-bedroom guesthouse, a four-car garage, a swimming pool and such equestrian features as a barn, stable, riding arena and pastures.

The Santa Ynez Valley is a prestigious address in Santa Barbara County known for its stunning countryside and mountains.

Newton-John hosted her niece’s wedding at the ranch in 2016.

Newton-John confirmed last year that she is dealing with cancer for a third time and that she uses “a lot of cannabis in my healing”, she told Yahoo Lifestyle.

She told People Magazine that she and businessman husband John Easterling grow cannabis on the grounds of their Californian ranch.

“He grows the plants and makes them into liquid for me. I take drops maybe four to five times a day,” she told People.

Newton-John contacted “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek after learning of his diagnosis with stage 4 pancreatic cancer and told him” “I know you can get through this.”

“Don’t read the statistics and stay focused and see how you can heal yourself,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “Sense of humour is vital. He (Trebek) has a great attitude and a great sense of humour about it and I’m sure he’ll do very well.”

Newton-John has praised her Byron Bay property with giving ‘total privacy with peaceful calming energy’.

In September, Newton-John said she was fighting cancer for a third time after revealing she kept her second bout with the illness private in 2013.

The four-time Grammy winner was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, undergoing a partial mastectomy and reconstruction.

She was diagnosed again with breast cancer in 2013, but chose to keep it private.

  • Beneath wholesome image, Doris Day was an actor of depth

Beneath wholesome image, Doris Day was an actor of depth

LOS ANGELES: The very name “Doris Day,” cheerful as a sunrise on a studio lot, was an invention.

The beloved singer and actress, who died Monday at 97 , was a contemporary of Marilyn Monroe but seemed to exist in a lost and parallel world of sexless sex comedies and the carefree ways of “Que Sera, Sera” (“Whatever Will Be, Will Be”). She helped embody the manufactured innocence of the 1950s, a product even she didn’t believe in.

“I’m tired of being thought of as Miss Goody Twoshoes …. I’m not the All-American Virgin Queen, and I’d like to deal with the true, honest story of who I really am,” she said in 1976, when her tell-all memoir “Doris Day: Her Own Story” chronicled her money troubles and failed marriages.

There was more to her, and to her career, than not sleeping with the leading man. She gave acclaimed performances in “Love Me or Leave Me,” the story of songstress Ruth Etting, and in the Alfred Hitchcock thriller “The Man Who Knew Too Much.” Longing ballads such as “Blame My Absent Minded Heart” led critic Gary Giddins to call her “the coolest and sexiest female singer of slow-ballads in movie history.”

But millions loved her for her wholesome, blond beauty, and for her string of slick, stylish comedies, beginning with her Oscar-nominated role in “Pillow Talk” in 1959. She and Rock Hudson were two New Yorkers who shared a telephone party line. She followed with “The Thrill of It All,” playing a housewife who gains fame as a TV pitchwoman to the chagrin of husband James Garner.

Her on-screen chastity was a gag for comedians, but not audiences. The nation’s theatre owners voted her the top moneymaking star in 1960, 1962, 1963 and 1964.

It was an easy punchline which would unjustly overwhelm her name and legacy for younger generations who would come to know her only through jokes at the inherent un-coolness of having such a pure image. As with Monroe’s reductive labelling, it denied, or at least dismissed, the talent behind it all.

In reality, Day was one of the most natural born movie stars ever to grace the screen, beloved by co-stars and directors for her raw gift, honesty and charisma. Director Michael Curtiz advised her against taking acting lessons. Garner told Vanity Fair that she was the “Fred Astaire of comedy.”

“Whether it was Rock Hudson or Rod Taylor or me or whoever,” Garner said, “We all looked good because we were dancing with Clara Bixby,” using one of the actress’ nicknames.

Her last film was “With Six You Get Eggroll,” a 1968 comedy about a widow and a widower and the problems they have when blending their families. It was that year that her third husband, Martin Melcher, who was as widely disliked as she was liked, died, and she retired from movies and turned to television. “The Doris Day Show” was a moderate success in its 1968-1973 run on CBS.

Melcher, who she married in 1951, left her deeply in debt. During their time together, he became her manager and often received producing credits on her movies, much to the irritation of her co-stars, like Garner, who thought of him as a no-talent hustler.

In her autobiography, Day recalled her son Terry Melcher, telling her that the $20 million she had earned had vanished and she owed around $450,000, mostly for taxes. In 1974, Day won a $22.8 million judgment against her lawyer and business manager for mishandling of her and Melcher’s assets.

She turned her attentions wholly to the welfare of animals, which would occupy her for the rest of her life. There were a few would-be comebacks in the early 80s that never came to be, including a “Pillow Talk” sequel. She was also offered “Murder, She Wrote,” and fielded many other requests too only to ultimately withdraw.

Day briefly returned to television in 1985 for the short-lived, animal-focused show “Doris Day’s Best Friends,” which aired on the Christian Broadcast Network. It is remembered mostly for her first guest, her old friend and oft-co-star Rock Hudson. It was the first time that the world had seen his much-altered appearance, and days later he became the one of the first celebrities to publicly acknowledge that he had AIDS. He died that year.

“I still miss him,” she told People Magazine in 2015. “I think the reason people liked our movies is because they could tell how much we liked each other. It came across that way on screen. He was a good friend.”

Although Day was absent from the screen for decades, she was not forgotten. In 2004 she was awarded a Presidential Medal of Freedom, which she said she was grateful for but didn’t accept in person because she “didn’t fly.” That unwillingness to travel also prevented her from getting a Kennedy Center Honor and others.

She still had enough of a following that a 2011 collection of previously unreleased songs, “My Heart” hit the top 10 in the United Kingdom. The same year, she received a lifetime achievement honour from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. Friends and supporters lobbied for years to get her an honorary Oscar.

Born Doris von Kappelhoff, her dreams of a dance career ended at age 12 when a car she was in was hit by a train and her leg was badly broken. Listening to the radio while recuperating, she began singing along with Ella Fitzgerald to try to learn the subtleties of her voice.

Day began singing in a Cincinnati radio station, then a local nightclub, then in New York. A bandleader changed her name to Day, after the song “Day after Day,” to fit it on a marquee.

A marriage at 17 to trombonist Al Jorden ended when, she said, he beat her when she was eight months pregnant. She gave birth to son Terry, who later took his stepfather’s name, in 1942.

Her first musical hit was the 1945 smash “Sentimental Journey,” when she was barely in her 20s, singing with Les Brown’s band.

She played a singer in her first film, Curtiz’s “Romance on the High Seas,” in 1948.

Day married a fourth time at age 52, to Barry Comden, who was a maitre d’ in Beverly Hills, in 1976. They divorced in 1981. She lived in Monterey, California, devoting much of her time to the Doris Day Animal Foundation, and battling sensational reports that she’d become a broke recluse and a “bag lady.”

“Considering Doris Day” author Tom Santopietro told The Hollywood Reporter in 2017 that the tabloid speculations weren’t at all true, however.

“I think Doris Day has been happier in retirement than at any other point of her life,” he said.

Ohio Weatherman Snaps at Viewers as Tornado Warning Interrupts ‘The Bachelorette’ (Video)

A meteorologist for Fox 45 in Dayton, Ohio snapped at viewers who complained on social media about a tornado warning that interrupted Monday night’s broadcast of “The Bachelorette,” saying that the cutaway was due to a “dangerous situation.” “I was just checking social media, we have viewers complaining already. ‘Just go back to the show.’ No, we’re not going back to the show, folks. This is a dangerous situation, okay,” Jamie Simpson said during the live broadcast. Simpson scolded viewers who cared more about who Hannah Brown would give the next rose to than to a dangerous weather situation, which has caused massive damage to the region. “Think about if this was your neighborhood. I’m sick and tired of people complaining about this,” Simpson said. “Our job here is to keep people safe, and that is what we’re going to do. Some of you complained that this is all about my ego. Stop. It’s not. I’m done with you people, I really am, this is pathetic.” Fox 45 did not immediately respond for a request for comment. However, Simpson did apologize later in the broadcast. “Alright, I’m sorry I did that, it just really bothers me that we have people that don’t care about other people’s safety around here,” Simpson said.

  • Meghan Markle Will Skip Royal Family Meeting With Donald Trump

Meghan Markle Will Skip Royal Family Meeting With Donald Trump

Even though the royal family doesn’t actually hold any political power in the UK—they just “play an important part in the life of the nation”—they still hobnob with heads of state. On June 3, the Queen, Prince William, Prince Harry, and Kate Middleton will all meet Donald Trump and Melania Trump during their three-day visit, but Meghan Markle definitely won’t make an appearance.

According to reports, Harry will have a private lunch with Donald and talk about who even knows what, and William and Kate will have tea with Donald on his second day. William and Kate will also join Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, and Donald for a welcome ceremony at Buckingham Palace.

During all these engagements, Meghan, who just gave birth a couple weeks ago, will likely be hanging out at Frogmore Cottage with her newborn son, Archie. And while you shouldn’t read too much into Meghan skipping this event because she hasn’t even made a statement about it, she probably isn’t upset about missing this because she’s definitely not a Donald fan.

Meghan once called Donald “divisive” and “misogynistic” and was a major supporter of Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. Meghan explained why she wasn’t voting for Trump during an interview with television host Larry Wilmore and said:

Welp, this visit will definitely give the royal family group text something to talk about.

Steven Rattner, “car czar” and counselor to the Treasury secretary in the Obama administration, cites three different modelers in his N.Y. Times commentary, “Trump’s Formidable 2020 Tailwind.”

The big picture: Trump wins all three modelers. Economists predict that the tailwind is large.

    • Ray Fair, a professor at Yale, “found that the growth rates of gross domestic product and inflation have been the two most important economic predictors — but he also found that incumbency was also an important determinant of presidential election outcomes.”
