‘God Has Not Given Us a Spirit of Fear’: Bieber Urges Fans to Turn to Jesus When Battling Anxiety

Justin Bieber is opening up to fans about his battle with anxiety and how he relies on God to cope.  “Don’t stop fighting – the battle has already won,” he wrote in a heartfelt message on Instagram Thursday.  “Fight for what you love and who you love don’t let fear and anxiety win…God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power love and of a sound mind!” Bieber said, quoting 2 Timothy 1:7.  Although the pop star has been very open about his faith in Christ, he says he still struggles with his identity as a child of God.  He recently reached out publicly for prayer, admitting his struggle with depression in the aftermath of years of wild living. But he told fans a few weeks ago that “God is faithful and UR prayers really work.”  Now he’s continuing that conversation on Instagram saying, “I haven’t believed the truth about myself – I haven’t believed I am loved – I haven’t believed I am forgiven it’s a hard thing for me to wrap my head around. I hang my head in shame and I wallow in sadness about the people who have betrayed me.”

Then he put the focus on Jesus.  “Jesus has given me freedom and the pursuit of getting to know his character is never ending. God’s character never changes – he is the same yesterday now and forever. He is always good! I won’t be afraid to be vulnerable before him.. his power is made strong in our weakness. God isn’t afraid of your pain and your brokenness he actually welcomes it. Come to me all who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest! these are words from Jesus!”  He encouraged others to put their trust in Jesus as well.  “There is hope and it’s in him!! He loves and cares for you! For God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that whoever believes him won’t die but have eternal life! You are that whoever and he accepts you as you are!! He loves and forgives you and welcomes you into his arms every time you mess. He is a perfect and loving God who adores you!”  Bieber regularly uses his huge social media platform to share the gospel message with his more than 100 million followers.  He recently married model Hailey Baldwin, who told Vogue magazine in 2016 that she believes God has given her fame to “not be quiet about Him, but to reach people and inspire people.”

  • You Kill Them Now or You Kill Them Later’

You Kill Them Now or You Kill Them Later’

Why do we only see the problem and not the solution?  Why do people feel so bad they want to kill their young?  Where in nature do you see this?  In animals who see no future for themselves let  alone their offsprings.  People are the same, people who kill their young are hopeless.  We should be doing something about that instead of killing babies.

Kill now are kill later, are the words that came from the mouth of Alabama State Rep. John Rogers as Democrats and Republicans debated the passage of a bill Tuesday that virtually banned abortion in the state of Alabama.  Rogers, a Democrat, argued that the decision to allow a child to live is a “woman’s choice” and that some children are simply unwanted.  “I’m not about to be a male telling a woman what to do with her body,” he said. “Some kids are unwanted, so you kill them now or you kill them later. You bring them into the world unwanted, unloved, you send them to the electric chair. So, you kill them now or kill them later.”  “Some parents can’t handle a child with problems.  It could be retarded. It might have no arms and no legs,” Rogers added, according to the Alabama Political Reporter.   Conservatives strongly condemned Rogers’ statements.

Donald Trump Jr. called the remarks “truly sickening.”  “This is stomach curling and makes Ralph Northam look like a moderate on abortion,” he said, referring to a Virginia governor who suggested that some babies should be allowed to die right after they are born.  “Every Democrat running for President needs to be asked where they stand on this. The extreme turn we’ve seen from Dems on abortion recently is truly sickening,” he continued.

A New Way to Church: Justin Bieber’s Pastor Launches App to Take Church Global

He’s one of the men who helped introduce Justin Bieber to Jesus Christ. Now Pastor Judah Smith is working on the rest of the world, bringing church to your smartphone and tablet in a new way.Smith and his wife Chelsea, who are lead pastors of Churchome with locations in Seattle and Los Angeles, have launched an app that brings church to the palm of your hand, including sermons, a virtual lobby, a “Daily Spark” inspiration, prayer and even community groups. The Chuchome Global App can be downloaded from the church’s website.

Smith said he decided to launch the app after he noticed a growing number of his members said they no longer go to a physical church building.  So the pastor duo decided to bring the church to them right on their phone whenever they want. “We’re trying to take church to the palm of your hand,” Smith said. “Wherever you go, Churchome is with you.”Churchome, previously called City Church, was founded by Smith’s father in 1992. Smith himself has been preaching for 25 years. He says being able to go to church on your phone, doesn’t signal the end of physical church buildings. “Technology has changed the world and we believe that technology is not a bad thing. It’s like money. It’s what you do with it. It could be good or evil, and we believe that we have an opportunity,” he said.

Besides Bieber, the church’s celebrity members include pro-golfer Bubba Watson and Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson. “Russ and I get to spend a lot of time together during the season as I get to do the chaplaincy for the Seattle Seahawks,” Smith told Fox News. Smith noted he’s really proud of Bieber, Watson, and Wilson whom he calls “his brothers.”  “To see them share their faith, which is the most important part of their life for those three men, the platform that God has given them has been something that has been so encouraging to me,” he said.  Bieber and Smith have been friends for several years, after Bieber’s mother Pattie Mallette introduced them. Smith says he has learned more from the singer than Bieber has learned from him.  “Watching Justin’s journey, as he’s grown up in view of the entire world and yet has owned his journey and his challenges and difficulties,” Smith said. “I think is an incredible example.”  “Justin Bieber has taught me far more than I could ever teach him about what it means to grow and walk in humility and be someone who really wants to follow Jesus,” he added.

  • ‘Captain America’ actor says he will ‘cut ties’ with Tom Brady if he’s really a Trump supporter

‘Captain America’ actor says he will ‘cut ties’ with Tom Brady if he’s really a Trump supporter

Hollywood actor Chris Evans, best known for portraying Captain America, hates President Donald Trump so much that he said he would “cut ties” with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady if he really supported the president.

Evans made the comments in an interview published Wednesday in the Hollywood Reporter. He was responding to a question about whether he would be willing to portray the iconic NFL superstar in a biopic.

    “I don’t know,” Evans responded.

“I really hope he’s not a Trump supporter,” he explained. “I’m just hoping he’s one of those guys that maybe supported him and now regrets it. Maybe he thought it was going to be different — and even that bothers me — but maybe there’s a chance now he just thinks Trump’s an absolute dumb shit, which he is.”

Brady had been rumored to be a Trump supporter since someone spotted a MAGA hat in the player’s locker.

“If he doesn’t, if he’s still on that Trump train, I might have to cut ties,” Evans concluded. “It’s really tough.”

Brady has not confirmed or denied rumors that he supports the president’s policies, and has only commented that he’s known Trump for many years and that they are friendly.

“Why is that such a big deal? I don’t understand that?” he said in an interview in 2017.

Evans is an outspoken liberal and has used his twitter account to attack the president as well as advocate for liberal causes. He says that he is “retiring” from the role of Captain America in order to pursue other roles.

“The Avengers: Endgame,” with Evans’ last portrayal of Captain America, opens in theaters on April 26.

  • Kathie Lee Gifford On ‘Crippling Loneliness’ Since Husband Frank’s Death

Kathie Lee Gifford On ‘Crippling Loneliness’ Since Husband Frank’s Death

Christian celebrity Kathie Lee Gifford lost her beloved husband, Frank, in 2015. Since then, she’s been through a lot of ups and downs. And a recent interview with AARP gives us a glimpse into the thoughts of Kathie Lee Gifford on the ‘crippling loneliness’ of being a widow. Kathie Lee and Frank Gifford were married for 29 years before Frank passed away at age 84. Like any marriage, the couple experienced ups and downs. But when Frank died suddenly in their Connecticut home, the loss was devastating for Kathie Lee. Still, in what most people would call a tragedy, faith helped Kathie Lee Gifford see God at work. “A 4-year-old girl having cancer is a tragedy,” co-host Hoda Kotb recalled Kathie Lee telling her after Frank’s death. “His life is a triumph.” WATCH: Kathie Lee Gifford On Husband Frank’s Death While Frank’s life had ended, Kathie Lee realized she had to keep living hers. “You have a moment where you just accept that you are a widow,” Kathie Lee told Hoda. “It looks weird to you for the longest time. You don’t define yourself that way.” So, Kathie Lee put on a brave face and forged ahead. She returned to work about a week after Frank’s death and kept busy starring in and directing a movie called “Love Me to Death” . But as anyone who has ever lost a loved one knows, time eases but never erases the pain. And in a 2019 interview with AARP The Magazine, Kathie Lee finally opened up about what life was really like after becoming a widow. Kathie Lee Gifford On ‘Crippling Loneliness’ She Experienced One of the biggest places Kathie noticed Frank’s absence was in their Connecticut home. “I didn’t have a reason to have to stay in this big house anymore,” she said. “I found myself dealing with crippling loneliness.” Kathie Lee knew she couldn’t just wallow in self-pity and goes on to explain, “I had to make a move to someplace physically, and I had to make emotional moves and spiritual moves. You gotta make new memories or the old ones are going to kill you.” And it’s not just Frank’s death that for Kathie Lee Gifford brings on ‘crippling loneliness’. “You battle different things as you get older, especially as a widow, you battle the loneliness when you lose a spouse,” Kathie Lee said. “It dawned on me the other day, I’m a widow, I’m an orphan, because my mother also passed, and I’m an empty nester all at the same time.” But Kathie Lee is working hard to choose joy over grief. And in her search to identify the things that bring her joy, she’s also figuring out some of the things that trigger that overwhelming sense of loss. For example, sunsets. Why Sunsets Are The Saddest Part Of Kathie Lee Gifford’s Day People don’t usually associate sunsets with sorrow. Their beauty often makes them a favorite time of day. But for Kathie Lee Gifford, sunsets are some of the saddest moments of her day. That’s because of the memories they trigger. “Sunset used to be a huge thing in our family,” she said. “Every day, no matter what, we’d yell, ‘Sunset alert!’ and we had to stop whatever we were doing, go out, and honor another day.” But now, “sunset alerts” just remind Kathie Lee that she is living alone. “Now I still say it out loud to the puppies. We still go and do it, but sunset alerts are some of my saddest moments when it’s just me and the dogs at home.” Those are the kinds of moments anyone fighting through grief will experience. And that’s when Kathie Lee encourages others to choose joy. “If you’re not careful, what you’ve lost in life can define you,” she says. “It’s so much better to be defined by what you still have, it’s just healthier. I’m making big changes in my life because I need to, really big changes that are feeding my soul. Otherwise, despair sets in and loneliness can be crippling.” Kathie Lee Gifford Talks About Being Single Another place where Frank’s absence can really be felt is at social engagements. “When you’re part of a couple, you don’t realize that the whole world is just made up of couples,” she said. For 29 years, Kathie Lee attended events with Frank by her side. But now, it’s just her. “And all of a sudden, you’re that odd number at a dinner party,” she explained. “You’re the fifth, seventh, ninth person at the table. They’re always making an adjustment for you.” Kathie Lee certainly seems like she could easily be the life of any party. But becoming a widow has made it tougher for her to enjoy social gatherings the way she did previously. “So I didn’t want to go out and go alone to things,” she said. “I go to professional things alone, but nothing social. I just wasn’t comfortable. And I didn’t want people giving me that widow look. ‘Oh, how are you? Are you OK?” Kathie Lee Chooses Joy Over Despair The transition from two to one certainly stirs up that feeling of loneliness. Thankfully, Kathie Lee Gifford had friends and family to support her. “My dearest friends during my darkest, darkest time, which was last year, my dearest friends already knew I was going through a terrible time. A desert,” she said. And Kathie Lee Gifford’s story of battling loneliness is so inspiring because she can use it to encourage other people dealing with grief. It’s not always easy to see the light when we are in the valley. Sometimes you have to pursue joy. And there’s only one place it can be found — in Jesus Christ! No matter how hard things get, Kathie Lee recognizes that those feelings of loneliness and despair don’t come from our Creator. “God is not the enemy of joy,” Kathie Lee says . “He is the creator of joy! We got a lot to rejoice about. You wanna fly, you wanna soar, you want to dream big dreams and see them come true? You need to partner with the right person: only Jesus.” Kathie Lee has her faith to remind her she’s not alone. So, as a widow, an orphan, and an empty nester, Kathie Lee will keep on choosing joy over loneliness. WATCH: Kathie Lee Gifford Finds Unconditional Love In Her Dogs “My joy is non-negotiable,” she says . “I tell you, that’s the beginning of bliss in life. You understand where your joy comes from and then you protect it with everything in you. I want to be purposeful every day of my life – every moment of it.” If you or someone you know is battling grief today, we sincerely hope Kathie Lee’s inspirational short story brings you encouragement! “He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” 2 Corinthians 1:4
